Here at Squaw Creek Baptist Church we believe that worship is the ascribing of worth to the Lord of Hosts. It is to be reverent and relevant and focused on the Triune God. We are commanded by Christ to worship in spirit and truth (John 4:24). We worship in spirit when we focus all that we are, heart, soul, mind, and strength on God and in truth when we accurately and reverently depict His character and praise Him for it.
Our worship style is blended in that we see the value of the great hymns of the faith and we recognize the joy and reverence for God that is displayed in many of the modern worship songs. We believe that both are vital parts of worship of our God and King, and we believe that true worship encompasses all aspects of a worship service and even our own lives.
We offer many different opportunities to serve in the worship ministry:
Praise Team – Our praise team seeks to honor the Lord in everything they do. They consider themselves “lead worshipers” as they lead the congregation into the throne room of God. The Praise team consists of drums, keys, guitars, bass, and vocals. They do a large selection of modern worship songs with traditional and re-vamped hymns mixed in.
Accompanist & Special Music – Our accompanists handle the traditional aspects of our services seeking to honor God and worship Him through the great hymns and spiritual songs of the faith. We utilize both piano and organ and we have many talented musicians. Our special music covers a wide gambit of forms including new songs with the praise team, individual solo’s, and instrumental pieces.
Praise Dance Team – Praise Dance is a ministry for 3rd grade and above in which the dancers engage in worship of God through interpretive dance. They maintain the highest level of and modesty and respect for the worship of God. David danced before the Lord and we believe that God is honored when whatever we do is done in an attitude of worship to Him. For videos and more information contact our church office.
Chimer’s For Christ – Chimes is a ministry much like handbells that features a choir of people working together to make beautiful music. They practice on Monday nights and perform several times throughout the year.
