The History Of Our Baptist Association

The roots of the Conservative Baptist Association of America trace back to 1946. On this date a group of believers formally broke away from the Northern Baptist Convention (NBC). "The struggle within the Convention was long standing, characterized by the inroads of modern religious liberalism., the gradual abandonment of Baptist policy, and the mover toward a centralized denominational power structure." In short, these believers were convinced that the NBC was abandoning the biblical position in doctrine and practice. Time has proven this true.

The Conservative Baptist Association (CBA) is what its name applies, merely an association of autonomous local churches. The association has no power structure designed to had down directives to individual churches. Each church in the association governs itself. The association exists: to promote Christian fellowship among the churches, to cooperate in providing higher education for constituents and to facilitate the placement of missionaries around the globe. Our association, known in short as CBAmerica, has approximately twelve hundred churches, one college and three seminaries in affiliation. Two mission agencies are also part of this family of ministries: CB International (foreign) and Mission To The Americas (North American). From the start CBAmerica has had two main concerns: Missionary expansion and loyalty to the biblical gospel.

It has been the long standing goal of CBAmerica to win lost souls to Jesus Christ, build Bible
truth into the lives of believers, and equip believers to minister to others in a continuing cycle. Our Mission Statement is as follows: CBAmerica exists as a network of churches, empowered by national and regional leadership and is committed to fulfilling the Great Commandment and the Great Commission by living Christ Before America. Our Vision Statement is as follows: CBAmerica aspires to be a network of people and churches radically transformed by their passionate love for God and driven by Christ's focus on the lost.

You matter to God! We care about you and will help you connect with God, understand His will for your life, and enjoy His blessings for your life.
